Mail Merge How-To

Mail Merge How-To

Mail merge consists in combining mail and letters and pre-addressed envelopes or mailing labels for mass mailings from a form letter.
Microsoft Word can insert content from a database, spreadsheet, or table into Word documents.
This feature is usually employed in a word processing document which contains fixed text (which is the same in each output document) and variables (which act as placeholders that are replaced by text from the data source).
You can read more about it on Wikipedia or Microsoft‘s dedicated articles. However, in this page, we intend to explain, in simple terms, how to use mail merge, in order to generate personalized mail offers from the list we provide you, weekly (or daily depending on your subscription).
So this page is focused on our customers, and their use of mail merge

As we said, mail merge is a powerful tool for generating a personalized letter/flyer to many people at the same time, using one uniform template. It imports data from the list file we provide you, and uses that to replace placeholders throughout the template with the relevant information for each individual targeted by the letter/flyer.

This “how to guide” explains how to create and print personalized letter or flyer by yourself, and merge it with the leads that we provide.

The process entails the following steps:

  • Create a generic flyer with personalized “place holders”
  • Import the leads from your file
  • Merge their information together into multiple, personalized flyers which you can print in bulk

As an example, if you create a letter that starts with “Dear Mr. X, how are you” and merge it with a list of 120 leads, you’ll end up with 120 personalized letters, each addressed to the respective person of the 120.

Here you’ll learn how to easily create Direct Mail campaigns on a dime, without using expensive agencies, design houses or print mills which you can produce and easily mail all by yourself.

If you follow these instructions, you can gain new customers, each week, and generate a new stream of income for your business, while investing no more than 1 hour a week.
